Frequently Asked Questions

Choosing a school is one of the most important decisions you'll make for your child. While every school offers learning opportunities, Catholic schools provide an education that nurtures the whole child academically, socially, emotionally and spiritually.

At our school, your child will be known, valued and supported as an individual. We strive to create a welcoming community where students feel a sense of belonging, develop strong relationships and are encouraged to become their very best version of themselves.

Catholic education is grounded in values such as compassion, respect, service, inclusion and justice. These values are woven through everyday school life, helping students grow into confident young people who care for others and make a positive contribution to their community.

Prep students engage with the Foundation Year of the Australian Curriculum through a play-based program that encourages curiosity. In our safe and nurturing environment, children learn through exploration and discovery, supported every step of the way by our caring and supportive teachers. With access to a purpose-built Prep precinct, students build confidence, form friendships and develop the skills they need for a positive and successful transition to Year 1.

To help your child feel confident and excited about starting school, we offer a range of orientation events prior to their first day. These opportunities allow your child and family to become familiar with our school community, meet key staff and begin building connections before their first day. Enrolled families will receive further information about these events closer to the time.

Our school welcomes enrolment applications for all grades at any time of the year. However, for Prep enrolments we generally follow a set timeline and you are encouraged to submit during Term 1 the year before your child is due to start school.

We are currently accepting Prep enrolment applications for 2028 and beyond. For other year levels, please enquire with our Enrolments team for the latest information for enrolment and availability at our school.

Before completing the application, please note that our school runs at full capacity, so any application submitted will be processed for your child/ren will be placed on our waiting list. Submission of an application does not guarantee an enrolment place.

There is no set date when you will 'know'. As we run at full capacity, if a position does not become available, then we will not be able to offer your child a place at Siena.

While Siena Catholic Primary School is a Catholic school, we are open to all families seeking a faith-based education in a welcoming and inclusive community. We celebrate the diversity of the families we serve and invite everyone to participate in and support the Catholic traditions, beliefs and values that guide our schools and enrich the educational experience of every student. Children who are baptised Catholic are given priority of enrolment at Brisbane Catholic Education schools.

Yes, on-site Outside School Hours Care (OSHC) for children up to 12 years old is available. This service is managed by Catholic Early EdCare. Click here to find out more.

If your child is placed on a waitlist, you will be kept informed throughout the enrolment process. If an availability arises, families will be contacted and offered a place where possible.

Because our school runs at full capacity, we do not offer tours for prospectives families of children in Year 1 – 6. Tours will be run for prospective Prep families in the year before their child is due to start.

We offer a Prep Tour in the year before your child would be due to start, usually in March before applications close. We will email families and advertise this via our website and Facebook page. We encourage you to submit your application before this, however you may wish to wait until after the tour.

We welcome students and families who share in the values and ethos of a Catholic education. Each application we receive is assessed on its merit however where limited availability exists, priority may be given to:

  • Students from Catholic families who are baptised or have a demonstrated commitment to the faith within their Parish community
  • A sibling of a current or past student of the school
  • A current student of another BCE Catholic school, other Catholic schools or Kindergartens managed by Catholic Early EdCare

Families are encouraged to review the BCE Enrolment Policy before submitting an application.

We are committed to supporting every student to thrive. Our specialist support staff work closely with families to understand each child's individual needs and, where required, develop personalised learning plans and programs that support their learning, wellbeing and success throughout their educational journey.

We believe every child deserves access to a high-quality education. We are committed to keeping our school fees affordable so more families can benefit from a Catholic education, regardless of their circumstances.
